BIO

A talented actress and writer, Tracey Ann-Marie Nelson has been acting and writing as soon as she could- having her first poem published in 2nd grade and writing her first play with a cast of forest animals in 4th grade.  By 8th grade and again 10th grade, she was writing and performing in her plays with her friends at the National History Day Contest held annually at University of Maryland, College Park.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana and raised in Tennessee, Tracey has always had a love for the arts, books and all things creative.  She attended and graduated from Purdue University with a major in Organizational Leadership, but always had a role in theatrical productions  during her time there to explore her passion for the creative arts.

Tracey accepted a position with Mobil Oil/ExxonMobil Corporation working in various cities and positions from competitive takeovers and acquisitions to fuels marketing. Four months after settling in Los Angeles, she was sitting in a marketing meeting and heard about a new campaign and new commercials at Mobil Oil.  She auditioned and landed her first national commercial as the principal talent! That opportunity yielded two national commercial spots, a radio spot and her SAG card.  She has continued to book commercials, network television roles, industrials, independent films, web series, plays and voiceovers.

Tracey was chosen to be mentored by Producer/Writer Marshall Herskovitz (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond) from hundreds of entrants for the PGA Diversity Workshop.  Out of that experience, she has written 3 feature films and one pilot. She also wrote, produced and played an eccentric character in the award-winning short, Tupac is Not Dead which premiered in the Rebel Planet Short Film Festival of Hollywood, and screened around the country at the Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival, Pan African Film & Arts Festival, Los Angeles, Harlem International Film Festival, Independent Black Film Festival, Atlanta, GA, and Texas Black Film Festival, Dallas, TX.

With an unwavering love and passion for the craft of acting, Tracey continues her studies in acting class in Los Angeles in person and virtual classes at The Juilliard School during the pandemic. She performed and produced industry showcases and a one-act play festival which have been on the main stages of some of the best 99-seat theaters in Los Angeles.  To date, she has produced and acted in over 50 shows.

When Tracey is not acting, she loves playing tennis, getting outside, being a foodie (including watching cooking shows and acting out her own), indulging her Francophile tendencies or raiding office supply stores for the perfect pen and paper. ★
